The Sustainable Commerce Scholarship

The Green Alliance has launched a bold new initiative that taps into the philanthropic spirit of our region's most successful and most generous companies: The Green Alliance Sustainable Commerce Scholarship.

This program is an opportunity for companies to sponsor a Business Partner membership in the Green Alliance for organizations that do not have the financial resources to afford the Green Alliance's non-profit Business Partner dues.

To kick things off, The Green Alliance is awarding our 2011 Sustainable Commerce Scholarship to the York County Shelter Programs, which has implemented multiple green initiatives at its shelter and its affiliates. This organization supports our community's neediest on a daily basis. While doing these good deeds, they've also kept a focus on sustainability. The Green Alliance has brought the York County Shelter Programs in as a full-fledged Partnering Business; won't you help us support their membership?

While we offer all area non-profits half-price Business Partner dues, there are still organizations that can't afford this reduced rate. We intend to add worthy operation into our green ranks every year on a 100% scholarship. Help us make that possible by contributing to the Green Alliance Sustainable Commerce Scholarship. If there's an organization that your company would like to help tap into the Green Alliance's marketing and promotional prowess, please consider a contribution in your company's name. As the donor, your company receives:

  • recognition on that organization's page on the Green Alliance web site
  • writeups in the Green Alliance blog and newsletter, including logo placement
  • a story pitched to the media about your charitable scholarship
  • permanent recognition on our "Friends and Advocates" page

Plus, if there's a non-profit or small business you'd like to nominate for the Sustainable Commerce Scholarship, please let us know. We're always interested in learning about the charitable and green activities performed by many of our region's most selfless citizens.
