There's an oft-spoken yet unwritten rule that each generation has a responsibility to impart all the knowledge it can upon the next, so that our communities continue to advance. That line of thinking was prevalent when Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity developed the Nickels for Nails program.

Nickels for Nails is a youth-led fundraising initiative aimed at educating local students about the housing crisis in New Hampshire through classroom learning, and empowering them to raise funds that will be used to build a home for a family in need, right here in the Seacoast.

Nickels for Nails, a cooperative effort between SENH Habitat, TD Bank's Portsmouth branch and Saltwater Integrated Creative Agency of Portsmouth, kicks off Monday to coincide with World Habitat Day.
