Since the July launch of the Green Alliance Families Club, families from all over New England have signed up to honor their commitment to green family values. In addition to scores of discounts at green businesses, the GFC membership offers a free Field Trip program to engage families in hands-on activities and projects and to learn more about the green businesses in their own communities.

On Tuesday, December 11, Pixels & Pulp, Mary’s Dogs, and the local Arts In Reach program will host a Holiday Craft Party at the Green Alliance office in downtown Portsmouth. From decorating bandanas for Mary’s adoptable dogs to designing recycled and nature-inspired ornaments, families of all agesare encouraged to join the holiday fun.

In true holiday spirit, kids will have the opportunity to donate their designed bandanas to the rescued pups from Mary’s Dogs and/or make a bandana for a dog they love. Mary Doane, founder of Mary’s Dogs, is excited to share the joys of dog adoption with the Green Families Club.

“This is a unique way for children to help dogs in need.” Says Doane, “Even though they may not meet the dog who gets the bandana they decorated, they know they’ve helped! I love that!”
