PORTSMOUTH - A new center for practicing the ancient energy arts of taiji (tai chi), qigong (chee kung) and yoga opened recently in Portsmouth's historic Button Factory.  The 875 Islington Street building has been extensively renovated as a "green" space, with a rooftop solar project planned for later this fall.

Taiji, qigong, and yoga have been practiced by millions of people throughout the world for many centuries.  They help people feel better, move more freely, breathe easier and connect with their spiritual selves.  They condition the body, improve circulation, develop energy and promote mindfulness.  Taiji and qigong classes will be taught by Gateway founder Bill Buckley, who has been studying and teaching the martial arts for more than twenty years.  Yoga classes will be offered by Ocean Spirit Yoga, which has made Gateway its new home.  For more information, visit www.gatewaytaiji.com.
