PORTSMOUTH -- A showcase of “over-the-top designer tabletops” to benefit Seacoast teenage girls will also shine a spotlight on a company committed to social and environmental responsibility.

The event, called “Tablescapes: The Art and Design of Entertaining,” is the premier designer tabletop showcase in support of Arts in Reach (AIR), a non-profit organization that empowers local teenage girls through mentoring and arts programs. The fundraiser will take place Nov. 2 through 4 at Discover Portsmouth Center, 10 Middle St., Portsmouth, the former library building across from Jumpin’ Jay’s Fish Café.

This is the second annual Tablescapes event, sponsored in part by Pixels & Pulp, a southern Maine design firm whose principals, Elise Weeks and Megan Keogh, are on the leading edge of sustainable design in both print and digital mediums. Pixels & Pulp helped market the event by designing the event collateral, including rack cards, banners, and print and online invitations. It also created the event logo, packets for sponsors and designers, and event posters; all of this pro bono and all because they deeply believe in the mission and effect that AIR is having on local teenage girls.

“We are involved with AIR because it’s having an incredibly positive impact on the lives and confidence of these girls,” adds Elise Weeks. “We want to put our skills to work to help grow organizations like AIR that are actively helping the community we do business in.”
