If you live in York County, Maine, and you have been thinking of weathering your home or buying an energy-efficient furnace, now may be the time to take the plunge.

The nonprofit Seacoast Energy Initiative is offering excellent terms on loans up to $15,000. To wit: Zero percent interest for the first three years, 3.5 percent interest after that for up to 10 years, and no closing or application fees, which are typically $200.

Also, energy auditors have agreed to reduce their normal price of $500 an audit to $350.

SEI calls it the "Warm up with a cool, low-interest loan" program.
