Two years ago, Peter Ellinwood was a vice president in the life insurance branch of a large investment company. Now he sells lightbulbs out of his School Street home.

Ellinwood and his wife, Suzanne, run an energy-efficient lighting business through the website they created, GreenPoma.com.

They weren't lighting experts before they launched the site 16 months ago. But to hear Ellinwood talk, you wouldn't know it. He speaks passionately about his products (Of a Phillips Energy Advantage halogen bulb: "Beautiful, bright white light - we love it") and spits out quick calculations about how much a consumer could save by upgrading to an energy-efficient bulb.
