News : Fair showcases mix of 'green' vendors

HAMPTON — The sophomore appearance of the town's Earth Day Awareness Fair showcased a variety of vendors and exhibitors aimed at educating community members on ways to live a more sustainable lifestyle, conserve energy and work toward becoming more "green."

Hosted by the town's Recycling Education Committee, the fair was held at the Hampton Academy Junior High.

Jane Ansaldo-Church, of the Recycling Education Committee, said the success of last year's event managed to attract an increase in the number of vendors promoting everything from rain gardens to geothermal heating and wind energy.

To promote the town's mandatory recycling policy, organizers were giving away free recycling bins to guests in addition to providing them with a comprehensive list of what items can be recycled and where reusable items could be recycled. Read the full story here!
