News : Editorial: Sen. Fuller Clark right to oppose solar project funds

We are writing to express our support and appreciation for the stand that Sen. Martha Fuller Clark has taken to support small businesses and sustainable energy in the state of New Hampshire.

On Wednesday, the New Hampshire Senate passed SB 334, which would earmark $5 million of our hard-earned money for a solar energy project in Manchester that they know precious little about. Fuller Clark made a strong statement on the floor of the Senate about why the earmark was a bad idea.

The Senate wants to direct funds to Manchester that are supposed to be available throughout the state for sustainable energy projects to support New Hampshire's burgeoning green economy. Until now, these dollars have been used to leverage jobs throughout the state for hundreds of small-scale projects. SB 334 eliminates a much-needed opportunity to support small businesses, instead favoring one of the state's largest companies. It sends a message to entrepreneurs in the Seacoast that they cannot compete with big business. Read the full editorial here
