PORTLAND, Maine — Portland Expo will house the city's first Green Home and Living Show Oct. 3-4 featuring over 125 home and living exhibits.

Consumers increasingly are looking to eco friendly solutions in their homes to decrease their carbon footprint and save money through energy efficient living. This event will bring motivated consumers together with the latest in green technology, products, and design.

The exhibition will feature a wide range of activities for every age and include seminars on such topics as: solar hot water heaters, stimulus tax credits for energy star appliances and energy-efficient remodeling; detecting and removing in home air toxins; how to green your family and more. In addition, attendees can enter to win a $15,000 Green Home Makeover.

Planet Aid is hosting a recycled clothing drive to benefit Good Shepherd Food Bank. Attendees may bring a bagged-donation of used clothing, shoes or small toys and receive $1 off admission, plus a chance to win a $3,000 eco-friendly paint job from POC Collision or an earth-friendly sculpture from local Maine Artist, Nathan Deveau of Deveau Gallery & Designs.
