Brown Encourages Seacoast to Go Green

The Biz: Sarah Brown, Simply Green Biofuels and Purely Organic Lawncare founded the Green Alliance just over one year ago as an environmental advocacy network for the Seacoast Region of Southern Maine and New Hampshire. Brown was researching individual energy use and personal environmental impact in Portsmouth and Kittery at the time.

The company is now a green business union of 54 businesses that have full certifications for environmental sustainability. Individuals also may be a part of the Green Alliance by paying an annual fee of $35, which entitles them to a "Green Card" that offers discounts at many green businesses. There are currently 400 Green Card holders...
