Job Listing: Sustainable Business Development Internship -- Green Alliance (11/28/11)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Grow the Green Alliance Consumer Co-op: While the Green Alliances Business Partner program has experienced incredible growth and interest from the business community, the consumer piece to the GA has not performed as well. We have been reaching the right audience through community outreach, media coverage, an active and extensive website and a Business and the Environment newsletter that reaches 10,000 green-leaning community members yet we are not seeing the desired numbers join our consumer co-op. Without the financial support that paying co-op members would provide, the Green Alliance cannot continue to do the important work of promoting and furthering sustainability in the local business community. Currently the Co-op has 2,500 members well below our target number of 5,000. Can you help re-imagine the Green Alliance Co-op? This is an opportunity to work closely with the GA Director as well as the owners of more than 93 sustainable businesses in Maine and NH. Help us craft the dynamic story and image of the Co-op that will increase membership and build this one-of-a-kind sustainable business model.
JOB SKILLS: Internship requirements: Minimum of 1 full work day per week, could be broken up into half days ~ availability on some weekends for events ~ vehicle for travel to Portsmouth (as of Oct. 1st the GA will have a downtown Ports. address which means easy access from Wildcat Transit in downtown Ports. ~ above average computer skills; your own laptop ~ environmental passion ~ applicant must be organized and a self-starter. OPEN to ALL MAJORS!
