What can you do to change the world? How can you make a difference?

Find out at the library from November 12 – 13, when we’ll host our first annual 2-day Environmental NetPositive Impact Symposium and Fair. The Impact Symposium will run Saturday, November 12 from 10:00 AM - 4 PM and Sunday November 13 from 1:30 PM – 4 PM. The event is free and open to the public, and all ages are encouraged to attend! Come for the whole symposium, or drop into the events that interest you.

Get inspired by listening to informative and galvanizing talks by two experts. Saturday’s festivities will start off with a presentation by Harvard University’s Gregory Norris, whose Handprint-Based NetPositive concept was featured in Daniel Goleman’s Time Magazine Article, “10 Ideas that are Changing Your Life.” Sunday’s activities will start off with a presentation by Jim Merkel, author of Radical Simplicity: Small Footprints on a Finite Earth.

Take part in activities and learn information at our “Handprint” Fair! Many local and regional groups specializing in environmental issues and sustainability will participate, including Seacoast Area Renewable Energy Initiative (SEAREI)Slow Food SeacoastThe Green AllianceSeacoast Eat Local, and Seacoast Local.

At the end of each day, you’ll have a chance to make a pledge for further action. We’ll close with a ceremonial closing circle, so you can share the actions you’re committed to taking, to make a positive impact on some aspect of the environment! Here’s a full schedule for both days:
