Apr 01 - Preparing for Climate Change in Rye

This is a workshop about how climate change can affect our community. Sea-level rise, storm surge, changes in rainfall and temperature are some of the topics that will be covered. You will learn steps that you can take to prepare for these changes. Dr. Cameron Wake of UNH will be giving a presentation climate change. There will also be small group discussion to identify potential risks and impacts to the community.

Apr 05 - Winter Farmers Market

Apr 07 - Raising Dough Benefit for the Cameron John Kosinski Donation Fund

900 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria

This event was set up to help offset some of the mounting medical costs and financial burdens as a result of CJ’s hospitalization. Every penny and every prayer counts. Apr 09 - North Branch Construction Green Eggs Event!

Apr 10 - Annual Coastal New Hampshire Climate Summit

The Annual Coastal New Hampshire Climate Summit will be held on Thursday, April 10 at the Hugh Gregg Coastal Conservation Center in Greenland. The summit is an annual discussion and collaborative forum among scientists, agencies, municipal leaders, watershed organizations and citizens concerned about increased precipitation, sea level rise, and increased frequency and severity of coastal storms in New Hampshire. The theme of this year's annual summit is Collaborating for Solutions: Choices Ahead. The summit is intended to educate attendees on local climate change research and adaptation efforts.  Dr. Robert J. Johnson, director of the George Perkins Marsh Institute, will be the keynote event speaker for the day. Apr 14 - Raising Dough Event: Friends Helping Friends

Apr 19 - Inequality for All: The Widening Distribution of Wealth in America

Former U.S. Secretary of Labor Robert Reich is presenting a free screening of "Inequality For All," a 90-minute long documentary. "Inequality For All" looks at the uneven distribution of wealth and investigates the impact of policy changes on the middle class. "Inequality For All" looks at how policy changes have threatened middle class spending. The film also looks at the relationship between the strength of the middle class and the strength of America. Apr 26 - Rescue Run: Race for Marine Mammals and Earth Day Celebration at the Science Center

36 Industrial Way, Rochester, NH

9:00 a.m.

The Seacoast Science Center is hosting a 5K trail race on April 26 to save marine mammals. The run is sponsored by Kennebunk Savings Bank, one of the Green Alliance's Business Partners. The race will kick off at 9:00 a.m. on April 26. The scenic Rescue Run will bring runners through historical Odiorne Point State Park. Those who place in the top five will be awared a prize, however it is not mandatory that all runners and walkers compete with that goal in mind. The Rescue Run is both competetive and non-competitive. A 2-mile, stroller-friendly trail will be available for those who want to participate with the whole family. If you would like to register as a team, make sure you have at least five members and don't forget to wear matching t-shirts! Registration takes place from 7:30-8:45 a.m. Participants 13 and older who pregister (before April 22) will pay $20 or $23 after the registration deadline is up. Kids ages 6-12 register for $12 before April 22 and $15 thereafter. Teams will receive discounted prices as well.
