Green Story
Robert’s Grill in Kittery Maine opened in 2004 when the owner of Bob’s Clam Hut bought the Quarterdek Restaurant, which had been in its famed Route 1 location for over 30 years. Robert’s goal is to provide the best Maine-inspired fare with the freshest ingredients at affordable prices. Having just joined the Green Alliance, Robert’s Grill recognizes it has “a lot of work to do” in order to expand its green focus, but is confident it can build on its involvement in a comprehensive clean-water program to help promote the restaurant as a truly green eating destination. Owner Michael Landgarten is a community leader and has contributed to numerous initiatives including but not limited to Foot Prints Food Pantry in Kittery and the Share Our Strength campaign. When Roberts was built, Landgarten was diligent about going above and beyond the minimum standards required for run-off and other environmental concerns, due to the restaurants close proximity to Spruce Creek.
