Green Story

Don Clark, owner and creator of Earth Host has been involved with sustainability issues since college. This passion first took form in IT work for non-profits that Clark felt were really making a difference. His first job was for the non-profit School for Field Studies, which was a pioneer in sustainability education; later, work with Eco Quest at UNH became an important formative experience. Don realized that he could combine his values of community service and sustainability with his knowledge of computers and marketing and practice his beliefs through his own business. Hence, EarthHost was born.

And although the client list is large and diverse, Earth Host is a web design, development and hosting company that specializes in servicing the non-profit community. This expertise is gleaned from years of creative and technical applications for the country’s best non-profit organizations and institutions. “The needs of non-profits, which comprise over 50% of EarthHost's customer base, are different than traditional businesses. First and foremost, staffing and budgetary constraints make an IT department next to impossible,” explains Clark. “But with Earth Host they can have top-notch IT blended with creativity and functionality in order to maximize the good they do – this is the part of my work I am most proud of – the fact that I am helping them to do more and do it efficiently.”
