This year, the Kittery Community Market has been revamped and is better than ever with the addition of new venders and sponsors. The Kittery Community Market is a weekly outdoor farmers market featuring local farmers, food producers, fishermen, and artisans and will be held every Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm until October 4.

On Sunday, July 19, Cocheco Valley Humane Society will join the market to promote discounted adoptions and veterinary services for veterans through the national nonprofit Pets for Patriots. "This is a really exciting collaboration for Kittery Community Market, as so many of our community members are part of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard," said market manager, Kris Bowden.

Pets for Patriots, Inc. is a registered 501(c)3 charitable organization dedicated to bringing pets and people together in a lifelong bond of mutual friendship, loyalty and love. Their goal is to make the benefits of shelter pet adoption a reality for military personnel, ensuring many years of friendship, companionship and joy with their honorably adopted dog or cat.

Cocheco Valley Humane Society and Pets for Patriots will join the weekly vendors at the Kittery Community Market and add an exciting new atmosphere to the market. The goal of the Kittery Community Market is to provide local artisan’s work, agricultural products, and healthy, fresh, locally-prepared foods to residents of Kittery and surrounding areas and to encourage commerce, entertainment and trade. The market hosts local restaurants and a food truck that prepare ready-made food items as well.

In addition to the Pet Adoption Day, don’t forget to stop by the market on August 23 for The Green Alliance Families Celebration in conjunction with the Kittery Community Market. This event will feature the traditional vendors who are present at the market each week, as well as special kid friendly vendors, games, arts and crafts, and cake to celebrate the birthday of Green Families.
