Now that summer is up and running, it’s the perfect opportunity for Seacoast residents to enjoy some fun outdoor activities. And what better activity is there than sailing on the gundalow? Gundalow Company has kicked off their summer sail schedule, with three sails a day, seven days a week. Half-priced sails are also available for Wednesday evenings. Other upcoming fun events include a presentation by Sherry Godlewski and Steve Miller of New Hampshire Coastal Adaptation Workgroup. They will be speaking on “Climate Change Impacts to the Seacoast.” Held this Wednesday, tickets will be just $15 per person, thanks to the support of the NHCP and RBC Wealth Management. Also, the concert cruise series will begin on Thursday, June 25th, with musicians Kent Allyn and Joyce Anderson performing traditional, R&B standards and fiddle tunes.

Gundalow Company is a charitable nonprofit which aims to show visitors the beauty of gundalow ships, flat-bottomed cargo that were a pillar of trade during the days of commerce upon the river. The educational programs which the GC operates aim to teach the value of environmental stewardship. It provides both a community outreach aimed at raising environmental awareness and an eco-friendly Seacoast tourism option. In addition, Gundalow Company has installed solar panels with the help of Secoast Energy.

Gundalow Company is an active member of the Green Alliance, the members of which receive 10% off both sailing tickets and private charters. The Green Alliance is a union of 90 green businesses focused across New Hampshire, southern Maine, and northern Massachusetts. The GA aims to promote and implement sustainable, environmentally-friendly business practices with all of its members. Not a member? Join here!
