Spring is here, gentle breezes abound, and it is a perfect time to get out of the car and enjoy the budding Spring. Seacoast Bike/Walk to work week starts on May 11 and runs through May 15. The weather is great; this is a great opportunity to improve your health; walking and biking helps the environment! Join in as part of this national effort to get people on their bikes and to pull out their sneakers and enjoy their commute while leaving their cars at home.

There will be free breakfasts offered to participants throughout the entire Seacoast region at locations in Dover, Durham/UNH, Exeter, Kittery, Lee, Newmarket, North Hampton, PEASE, Portsmouth, Rye, and Stratham. Visit one or more of the free breakfast sites on your healthy commute.

Various other events will be going on over the course of Seacoast Bike/Walk to work week, for participants including “Fix a Flat” clinics for women at several locations in Portsmouth.

Companies can also get in on the fun with the Seacoast Corporate Challenge, where they go head-to-head with other similar sized companies and see who gets the most participants. Green Alliance Business Partner the Portsmouth Brewery will be holding the award ceremony for the Corporate Commuter Challenge on May 16, from 6 to 8 pm, to hand out the trophies. They will also be having raffles and complimentary snacks for all participants of Seacoast Bike/Walk to work week.

So hang up the car keys, enjoy the views of buds forming on trees and flowers reemerging from their Winter hibernation, and bike or walk to work!
