As we warm up to summer, adults and kids alike are eager to spend some quality time outside. Sagamore Golf Club provides families and golf fans with eco-friendly options that are as green as the golf course itself. Founded in 1929, the original Sagamore Spring Golf Club was one of the first public golf courses ever in New England. When the son of the founder, Richard Luff, opened a second location in North Hampton in 1962, he had intended to design and build a golf course using as few chemicals and hazardous materials as possible.

With the school year about to end, Sagamore’s affordable prices keep this club sustainable on the wallet. One of the unique golfing experiences Sagamore has to offer this season is Foot Golf – a twist on golf where the players kick a soccer ball into a cup in as few shots as possible. For beginner golfers who are looking to learn, Sagamore also offers lessons by request. For those who aren’t as fortunate to have a summer vacation, Golf Leagues are a great way to break up the busy work week with friends or colleagues. As long as the greens are clear and the ground conditions are favorable, Sagamore Golf will be open for play.

Now in its 85th year, Sagamore has continued to be at the forefront of great public golf in New England. This club goes out of their way to maintain greens and fairways using all natural product, recently teaming up with Purely Organic Lawncare to use organic fertilizers in a stance against chemical fertilizers, pesticides, and herbicides on one of their holes. Sagamore will pursue to continue this environmentally conscious practice on the remaining 17 holes. Despite the golf industry traditionally using heavy chemicals on their courses, Sagamore continues to go against the grain and practices sustainable methods to ensure environmental safety for every season.
