PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS
The purpose of the Green Alliance Assistant Director is to support all tiers of the company with a special emphasis on Business Partner (BP) story-telling, sales, satisfaction, and service. The Assistant Director works alongside the Director to provide support in different ways when needed. The sales aspect of this position is to generate leads, close business partnerships, and on-board new businesses by familiarizing them with Green Alliance policies and practices and then helping to execute all the GA services. The Assistant Director is instrumental in all aspects of writing, editing, PR and Marketing, social media and technology support. Strong writing and editing skills are required. The ideal candidate understands the realities of working for a growing small business powered by a little budget and a whole lot of entrepreneurial spirit. Computer skills and customer service experience are a must. The perfect candidate is well organized and has a knack for improving the efficiency of business operations. A passion for the environment and social responsibility are also a must. This is not a “punch-the-clock” position but rather, the ideal candidate is self-motivated to go the extra mile.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Helps ensure 90% existing BP renewal rate by executing all aspects of the GA program
• Business development/revenue generation by signing new BPs – goal of one per month
• Service existing BPs, broker partnerships and form relationships in the business community with potential BPs
• Manage relationships with community groups/non-profits
• Attend events for the GA (occasional evening hours required)
• Develop and execute marketing/brand development and strategy
• Design and implement new revenue sources
• Train and manage employees
• Conduct comprehensive sustainability certifications
• Write media-ready stories
• Help manage, maintain and grow social media and digital promotions

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL
• Excellent communicator/public speaker
• Sustainability knowledge and experience
• Strong sales experience and ability to effectively share the GA message
• Understands Associated Press (AP) Style
• Very organized and acute attention to detail
• Writing experience, and understanding of brand messaging principles
• Social Media know-how (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube)
• Experience with Mailchimp, Salesforce, Paypal, Hootsuite, Google Analytics, Wordpress

ADDITIONAL SKILLS FOR CONSIDERATION
- Graphic design/photo editing skills (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Basic HTML knowledge
- Experience with demographics research and digital advertisement

COMPENSATION
Four days per week starting at $12 / hour, position comes with free membership at a yoga studio in Portsmouth, Dover or Exeter, paid holidays, and paid time off.
