Blog : RAM brings Green Practices to Printing

By Mike | Feb 12, 2015 | in

RAM Printing has been paving the way for environmental sustainability in the printing industry long before the current green trend. With its long history of eco-friendly practices and efforts to educate the local community, RAM Printing is a major leader in New England energy efficiency.

RAM’s green practices started back in 1989. Unlike most printing companies which use toxic, oil-based inks, RAM specializes in vegetable-based inks. These unique inks eliminate any kind of toxins that standard inks release into the environment, and they even have the same color quality as the more main-stream brands. The printing plates themselves are water-based and recyclable, making them equally safe for the environment.

RAM is also a fully active member of the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), an organization that promotes responsible forest management and certifies sustainable paper manufacturing processes. All of the paper RAM uses is FSC certified, with most paper products coming from local companies such as Mohawk and Monadnock Papers.

Not only does RAM perform some of the most sustainable practices in the industry, but the company also works to spread the word. Whether it’s fully documenting green initiatives or offering full tours of the company, RAM is completely transparent about its environmental efforts.

In addition to its environmental practices, RAM Printing is a strong supporter of cutting-edge technology. The company’s newest printer only takes 12 minutes to set up, and can print 15,000 copies per hour.
