Smuttynose Brewing Co., New Hampshire’s leading craft brewery, invites everyone to its inaugural Plaid Friday Extravaganza at the new brewery on the historic Towle Farm in Hampton, NH. Doors for this first public event open at 10am on November 28.

Visitors expecting Smuttynose’s award-winning beer won’t be disappointed, but there are a few other seasonal festivities that are sure to spread smiles and holiday cheer.

S’Mistletoe, Smutty’s first Christmas beer, brewed with sweet cherries, plums and black currants and oak-aged, will debut in limited-edition, ceramic bottles and on tap for samples. The Smerch Store will have special sales on Smuttynose gear and selected

Hungry shoppers (or anyone who needs a break from leftovers or too many family members in a small space) can enjoy inspired sliders from Belle’s on Wheels food truck from 11-4 and everyone is welcome to vent holiday stress at the Fruit Cake Toss, where successful hurling of the much-maligned holiday dessert will yield great rewards.

Plaid Friday will also mark the beginning of what is hoped to be an annual tradition; communal trimming of Smuttynose’s Christmas tree. Smuttynose will donate $2 to Hampton Community Coalition for each ornament placed on the tree from November 28 until December 24. “We’re new in town and we want to be a helpful member of the community,” said Peter Egelston, Smuttynose Founder and President, “the Hampton Community Coalition is an organization that has the ability to do a lot of good throughout the town, so we’re very happy to support them.”

Why Plaid Friday? Smuttynose is a locally-owned Seacoast business and we want to help support our community. Plaid Friday is a colorful alternative to a Black Friday that encourages shoppers to support local businesses for greater economic impact. Shopping local generates three times the economic activity as patronizing big box stores. Vibrant local enterprise is an important part of economic and community health. These local businesses are owned and/or operated by your neighbors and friends. Smuttynose is proud to support this initiative because it matters and makes a tangible difference in all our lives.
