Blog : Blue Ocean Society's Halloween Party

By Madalyn | Oct 23, 2014 | in

Blue Ocean Society is hosting a Halloween Party at the Blue Ocean Discovery Center on October 25 from 3:00pm-5:00pm. It will be a wonderful event for families with small children to get excited and do a trial run before Halloween. All are invited to come dressed in costume to celebrate the season (extra bonus for those who come dressed as their favorite marine animal or sea creature).

During the Halloween party there will be a number of family friendly activities to participate in: there will be a scavenger hunt, arts and crafts, and cookie decorating. There will also be a costume parade for everyone to show off their costumes and strut their stuff. And of course there will be time for families to visit and interact with the Society's two 100-gallon touch tanks, so don't miss out on the fun!

The goal of the Center is to provide a family-friendly attraction at Hampton Beach where visitors can learn about marine life, local and maritime history, and actions they can take to protect the marine environment. The Center is operated by the Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation, a local non-profit organization whose mission is to protect marine mammals in the Gulf of Maine through education, research and conservation.

Visitors at the event are welcome to stop by or to stay for the full party.  Admission to the Halloween party is free but donations are always welcome. The Blue Ocean Discovery Center is located at 170 Ocean Boulevard, Hampton Beach.

In addition to the Halloween Party, the Center offers a free story time each Friday morning at 10:30a.m. For more information about the event or the Discovery Center visit or email
