As the weather begins to change and we transition into another New England fall, everyone looks forward to the fresh apples, pumpkins, and other goods that are signature items of the autumn season. The Greenland Farmers’ Market is still in full swing, bringing the freshest fruits and vegetables from the farm to your table.

The Greenland Farmers’ Market in Greenland, New Hampshire offers a diverse array of farm fresh products from local farms, as well as locally sourced prepared foods. The variety of goods allows customers to find produce, prepared foods, and unique crafts that they know are locally grown and made, while also supporting small businesses in the New Hampshire Seacoast area. The last farmers market of the season will be held on September 30, 2014 and will feature additional vendors who are Business Partners of the Green Alliance. This is a unique opportunity to learn about green, local businesses while shopping for your home’s essentials.

The Green Alliance works to increase the profits of environmentally friendly businesses, encourage sustainable practices, and educate the public about the benefits of choosing local products. The businesses attending the Greenland Farmers Market have a focus on these ideas and will make a great addition to the final farmers market.

The special vendors will include: EZ Bikes & Scooters, a local company that sells electric bikes and scooters and has worked to make their business more energy efficient and green; Southeast New Hampshire Habitat for Humanity ReStore, which sells new and reusable building materials; The Acorn School of Stratham, a pre-k and kindergarten school that stresses nature and the environment in their curriculum; Mary’s Dogs, a dog rescue and inn that advocates green practices will be present; Coca-cola will be demonstrating their comprehensive recycling program and giving out free samples of honest tea; and The Great Bay Stewards will be scooping Richardson’s Ice Cream and providing children’s crafts. The Green Alliance will also have a booth where visitors can learn more about the organization, the 100+ green, local business partners, and the benefits of becoming a member.

The last Greenland Farmers’ Market of the year will be a unique opportunity to purchase locally grown and made products and to check out the Green Alliance and its business partners. The event will be held on Tuesday September 30th from 3-6 p.m. on Post Rd in Greenland, so don’t forget to add it to your calendar and support your local businesses!
