On September 30 Community Toolbox will host their first fundraiser at Flatbread Pizza from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Portsmouth. Proceeds from food sold will benefit Community Toolbox. They will also have a table set up at the front door featuring raffles, and the opportunity for citizens to meet some of the members of Community Toolbox and learn more about what they do throughout the Seacoast community.

Community Toolbox is a nonprofit organization serving New Hampshire’s Seacoast area to help community members make repairs to their homes. The goal is simple- work together to help those in the community who are unable to afford small improvements to their homes; whether they be senior citizens, veterans, people with disabilities, or residents who have fallen on hard times.

Through Community Toolbox’s Fix It Program, eligible homeowners in need are able to receive minor repairs for the cost of the materials only, with labor provided by volunteers from the area. To help fund the Fix It Program, Community Toolbox runs a non-profit Outlet Store, which is open to the public and anyone can donate used household items such as appliances, cabinets, and doors to then be resold to raise money for the organization. They also offer a service where the Community Toolbox Deconstruction Team removes items from your home, for a much lower cost, and sells the donated materials at their retail store. This means that homeowners have a cheaper way to have their old household materials removed, they are able to donate the otherwise useless items to help community members in need, and the amount of waste sent to landfills is reduced. It is a win-win situation for everyone involved!

Community Toolbox relies on volunteers to run their various programs and always welcomes new volunteers to work on upcoming projects. In addition to volunteering, those interested in helping people in need in their community can donate to the organization to keep their small home repairs program possible.

If you are interested in helping, and want great pizza, donations will be made to Community Toolbox for every pizza that is sold - any size, dine-in or take-out. Be sure to add this event to your calendar and help out a local nonprofit continue to improve the Seacoast community!
