Standing behind their vocation to help other people, ENH Power recently began collaborating with the Great Bay Stewards to raise awareness on sustainable issues. Though slightly different in their respective business models, both businesses have a passion for helping people and the environment. It is no surprise then that these two eco-minded businesses would form a partnership.

“The match between ENH Power and the Great Bay Stewards is a good one; it was honestly a no brainer,” said Peter Wellenberger, Executive Director of the Great Bay Stewards.

“It’s a natural fit and the collaboration thus far has been amazing," agreed Julie Lapham, ENH Power's Community Outreach Coordinator. "I love these guys!”

The key to a lucrative collaboration, according to Lapham, is a partner who is successful and present, and the Great Bay Stewards inhabit both of those qualities. Through ENH Power's Power to Help Fund, the electricity supplier afford the tools for Great Bay Stewards, a nonprofit, to be successful in their conservation efforts; from events to campaigns regarding the preservation of New Hampshire's most critical tidal estuary.

ENH Power’s Power to Help Fund functions with the purpose of assisting local organizations to do what they do best-help other people, the environment, or whatever their core mission may be.

As a Power to Help partner, ENH Power will give five dollars to the Great Bay Stewards for each home, or small business, that switch their electricity supply to ENH Power. Also, if members renew their contract, ENH Power will give the Great Bay Stewards the equivalent of two percent of their supply bill for the renewal period.

“We will help to spread their mission and find them new supporters," said Lapham. "I have no doubt as this collaboration continues the amount of people and attention will grow and grow and grow."

Raising awareness about Great Bay Stewards' fundraising efforts and outreach in the community is one aspect that really attracted Wellenberger to the partnership.

“There are few opportunities where you can succeed in both your job and your goals. By working with ENH my job and goals of caring for the environment are aligned,” he said.

Great Bay Stewards work diligently through various outlets informing the public about the negative effects people have on the environment. Some of their efforts include, but are not limited to, working to prevent shoreline erosion, invasive plant growth, and increased levels of nitrogen from human-caused water runoff.

ENH Power is part of the Maine owned Provider Power family of companies. Along with Provider Power Mass and Electricity Maine, ENH power provides competitive, fixed, electricity supply rates to consumers. Power Provider purchases electricity from the New England Power Pool.

Both environmentally minded businesses are members of the Green Alliance, a locally driven union passionate about bringing awareness to environmentally friendly businesses while also providing its members with discounts on green products and services.
