LONDONDERRY -- The Fourth Annual Stonyfield Earth Day 5K and fair is set for this Saturday, May 3! The past three races had sell-out crowds, and Stonyfield is anticipating another successful race day this year. The fair will feature new vendors, exciting events and live music. Local eateries will provide free and healthy food options for attendees.

Stonyfield, the world's leading organic yogurt maker, has teamed up with LOCO Sports to host the Earth Day 5K race. LOCO Sports is a Newmarket-based company that operates many premier running events in New Hampshire. The race and fair will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end around 1:00 p.m. Participants can choose to run or walk the 5K. The fair is open to the general public so anyone who is unable to race can join in on the fun, too!

Pre-registration is currently closed, but adults can register for $30 on the day of if space is still available. Youth tickets cost $20. Registered children will receive free tickets to the NH Children’s Museum in Dover. All pre-registered runners and walkers will receive a free, 100 percent organic, custom t-shirt courtesy of B-Positive Project Apparel. The first 1,250 people to register will also get a free ticket to a Manchester Fisher Cats baseball game.

Stonyfield is thrilled to announce some of the new additions to the fair this year. Runners over the age of 21 will be able to quench their post-run thirst at the beer tent provided by Samuel Adams. The Dusty Gray Band will perform live music throughout the duration of the fair. Transportation to and from the parking lots will be provided by Grace Limousines. Little ones will get the opportunity to meet Gurt the Stonyfield Cow from Stonyfield and other mascots. Many eco-friendly companies, including the Green Alliance, will have tables set up in the vendor section. The eco-friendly businesses will be featured under Stonyfield's “Green” tent so that runners and walkers can learn more about the environment and sustainable living.

Although Earth Day came and went a few weeks ago, Stonyfield sees no harm in continuing the Earth Day celebrations for a little longer. Stonyfield believes in using sustainable, organic, ingredients when creating their delicious yogurt and smoothies. Absolutely no GMOs, artificial hormones or toxic pesticides are used in their products.

Part of the proceeds from the race will benefit the endangered New England cottontail rabbits. In 2008, Stonyfield created a habitat for the breed of rabbit on their privately owned landlot. A portion of the race's profits will go towards the New Hampshire's Nongame and Endangered Wildlife Program in order to support species conservation efforts. The “Bunny Hop” event gives out bunny tails to bring attention to the endangered New England cottontail rabbit. Easter Seals, an exceptional organization providing educational services and opportunities to people with special needs and disabilities, will also receive donations from Stonyfield.
