MANCHESTER –- It was on a small farm in New Hampshire where Priscilla Lane-Rondeau, owner of 900 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria, first got a taste for sustainable comfort food. Since those early days, Rondeau has turned her appreciation for cooking into a viable, environmentally-friendly business.

Known for their Italian-inspired wood-fired pizzas, 900 Degrees' menu also includes a wide range of soups, salads, pastas and desserts all made from fresh, local ingredients. Along with creating a varied menu, Rondeau also curates an authentic atmosphere for diners at their dual locations in both Epping and Manchester.

900 Degrees uses a comprehensive recycling program, low-volatile organic compound (VOC) paint, green-certified products and packaging, and organic ingredients whenever possible. 900 Degrees is an extremely eco-friendly business which is what prompted the restaurant to become a Green Alliance partner. The Green Alliance partners with sustainable businesses and consumers on the Seacoast to promote eco-conscious lifestyles.

900 Degrees not only separates itself from competitors when it comes to being green, but also in terms of community involvement. This month, 900 Degrees Manchester is hosting a range of different giveback programs to help expand their customer base and fundraise for good causes.

"Different marketing programs help unite the Seacoast. Raising Dough is a great way to establish roots in the area and build loyal cliental,” said Jon Flebotte, 900 Degrees General Manager. "We're excited about the Raising Dough program because its more effective than gift-card giveaways. We're able to show sympathy for the causes we want to expose and give larger donations."

“Each Raising Dough charity is given the opportunity to take over 900 Degrees for a night." said Flebotte. Rondeau is a firm believer in giving back, Flebotte noted. It was Rondeau who first initiated Raising Dough events to target special charities on the Seacoast.

On April 7, 900 Degrees donated 10 percent of proceeds to the Cameron John Kosinski Donation Fund, designed to help the Konsinski family after the sudden loss of their son, CJ, to illness. In March 900 Degrees also held an event to help N-Step Parent Council, who support the N-Step Dance Team, as well as an event for Friends Helping Friends who will use the donations to purchase adaptive equipment, gas for hospital transportation, laptops and family trips for students with long-term illnesses. The events and are beneficial for both the charity and the restaurant as both gain exposure for the work they do in the community.

As one of 50 New Hampshire restaurants selected, 900 Degrees will take part in the Taste of the Nation event this month. Taste of the Nation travels across the country to work with some of the best chefs and bartenders from coast-to-coast in order to end childhood hunger in America. 900 Degrees plans on selling a thinner pizza with lower gluten content, as well as meatballs and their famous canolis at the event.

Restaurant Week is another exciting foodie event on the agenda for 900 Degrees. 150 participating restaurants follow certain price guidelines for lunch and dinner menus during the statewide event.

“It’s a great way to get people out and in the mood for Spring. 900 Degrees is offering a special discount with two salads and pizzas at $25,” Flebotte said.

The experience is cost effective for consumers. This year New Hampshire’s Third Annual Restaurant Week will last from May 16 to May 23. No tickets are needed to enjoy the deal, simply show up to 900 Degrees any day during that particular week.

900 Degrees also has a two-for-one (2-4-1) promotion on their speciality pizzas every single Tuesday night from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. 900 Degrees offers eight different specialty pizzas choices and $5 dollar martinis. It's a great deal for local guests who want to enjoy a night out without spending a fortune on dinner. 900 Degrees is also doing a “Dinner in the Dark” fundraiser at their Epping location. Prepare to enhance your senses if you choose to partake in this unique experience.
