Blog : Little Waiting to be Matched

By Mary | Jan 22, 2014 | in

Below is a guest blog from Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Seacoast. The program is run by Executive Director Stacy Kramer in Portsmouth, NH. BBBS is on a mission to give all children the opportunity to achieve success. They are a Green Alliance Business Partner dedicated to matching young kids facing adversity with responsible, strong role-models. Each month, Big Brothers Big Sisters highlights a child waiting to be matched with a potential Big.

Kaden is 12 years old and lives in Dover. He loves camping, fishing, archery, nature walks, football and building things. His mom describes him as even-keeled, laid back and shy, but comfortable once he gets to know someone.

Kaden has been raised by a single mom since he was 6 months old. His dad lives locally but has his own struggles and is not interested in having a relationship with his son. Kaden is having a hard time with his dad's decision and really needs a positive male influence in his life.

Kaden thinks the best part about having a Big Brother will be being active together and having that "brotherly figure," as he lives with his mom and older sister. He is looking for someone who is active, kind, thoughtful and willing to try new things.

Kaden is just one of the 58 children currently on our waiting list looking for a Big Brother or a Big Sister. If you or someone you know is interested in learning more about becoming a Big, please call our office at (603) 430-1140.

Green Card Holders who participate in Big Brothers Big Sisters will receive a free Green Alliance membership to give to a friend! Non-members will earn a free GA membership by mentioning they saw BBBS on the GA website!
