Dear Senator XXX,

As business leaders from across the state, we represent companies of all sizes from several key sectors of our state's economy. We believe that it is critical to move America forward, into a 21st century, clean enegry economy. We are calling on Congress to finish what it started by passing a comprehensive clean energy and climate policy that will create the market certainty necessary to unleash capital investment and innovation, spur tomorrow's energy industries, and create America, jobs.

The House of Representatives passed cliamte and energy legislation more than a year ago, and American businesses, innovators, and entrepreneurs are ready to lead. But first, the Senate must act. Every day we fail to act, we give up a little more of the multi-trillion-dollar clean-energy market to overseas competitors.

Every day we wait, the United States falls $260 million further behind the rest of the world in clean energy investment. Meanwhile, China recently announced a massive $739 billion investment in emerging energy industries and technology through 2020.

As the headlines continue to be dominated by a slow economy, stagnant job markets, and jobs heading overseas, inaction is not a vialbel option. It is time to fuel our economic recovery by reclaiming American leadership in the fast-growing clean-energy sector.

We urge you to reach across the aisle and beyond regional interests to move America toward energy independence and the economic growth and new jobs that will come with it. Now is thetime to put America back in control of its energy securtiy and its economic future.
