Dover Poised to Accept Free Gundalow

Gundalows sailed in local waters for centuries, bringing goods, people and wealth to the Garrison City. While the city's shipping heyday is long over, one of the historic vessels that made it possible could return to Dover for good.

The Gundalow Company of Portsmouth has offered to donate a replica gundalow to Dover at no charge. The City Council will consider the proposal during its Wednesday meeting at 7 p.m.…

The Portsmouth Brewery is hosting the Portsmouth Science Café on October, 29 in the Brewery’s Jimmy LaPanza Lounge. The topic of discussion is- Superman or Clark Kent: What kind of bystander are you?. The event is hosted by UNH faculty member Cameron Wake and will feature faculty members Sharyn Potter, professor of sociology and Victoria Banyard, professor of psychology. They will discuss topics relating to interpersonal violence and ways in which that violence can be prevented. It is important to facilitate such as discussion in order to make help more accessable and people more willing to help. Come and share in what is sure to be lively discussion. This discussion is free and open to the public; the doors will open and hour early for visitors to purchase food and drinks if desired.
